Director, Origination & Development
We are seeking a motivated Origination & Development Director to manage his/her own portfolio of large-scale solar + storage projects throughout the United States. The successful candidate will direct business and project development initiatives and act as team leader for all aspects of their portfolio.
Candidates who are currently Associates and have at least 4 years of hands-on solar project development/investment experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsible for bringing all development projects under their portfolio to COD; actively developing new PPA opportunities and managing each aspect of the project development phase, including identifying and securing sites, project permits, tax abatements, interconnection positions, coordinating relevant studies, as well as forecasting and mitigating risks.
Direct and collaborate closely with our external consultants and internal teams to assess technical, financial, legal and community relations impacts to your project portfolio.
Identify and manage new Greenfield projects against targeted offtake opportunities; prepare detailed budgets and forecasting reports to send to executive management; brief executive management on such opportunities and progress.
Lead business development activities, including advising the RFP response team with proposal crafting and represent the Company in pitch meetings, PPA draft sessions and conferences.
Keep abreast of IRPs, ESG programs of corporate offtakers, jurisdictional rulings, and other market-relevant documents; play an active role in augmenting our Market Analytics team.
Actively follow technical and economic trends that may impact your project portfolio, including site valuations, tax policies, CAPEX and OPEX costs, and energy storage technology.
Responsible for 1-3 direct reports.
This is a portfolio management role where you will have P&L responsibilities. We are seeking a unique candidate who can originate and develop a portfolio of their own projects, lead teams and manage relevant budgets. Clear communications, confidence and outstanding leadership and teamwork must be displayed.
Travel up to 50% will be required. Remote work is optional.
